These days, credit card fraud is a serious issue. 💳 Too many cards are compromised by bad guys 👿  going on mega shopping sprees. 🛍️ 🛍️ 🛍️ The last thing you want is your customers to fall victim to credit card theft after shopping at your store. ☹️ 

For that reason, access to credit card data within your store orders is limited — you’ll only see the last four digits of customers' credit card information in the Orders section of your Admin Area. This information can’t be exported from the system, only manually viewed.

Also, your store won’t store (pun intended) CVV2 security verification numbers — the three or four digits on the back of the card — for credit accounts it processes. 

These restrictions were designed for security purposes, in conjunction with the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Security Consortium's best practice guidelines and suggestions. Full-track credit card data can’t be displayed or exported from your store in any way. 🚫

And don’t worry, these restrictions won’t interfere with your ability to sell online. Orders can be fully processed with these security measures in place. They were designed to act as internal police officers 👮👮👮 and reduce the risk of sensitive customer data being compromised.

Summary

While credit cards make it easy to shop online, security precautions must be in place to prevent sensitive data from falling into the wrong hands. Your Volusion store won’t store some private info and prevents other info from export, so customers can feel confident that their orders are being processed securely.
