Did you know that the text that displays in a visitor's browser tab and in organic search result listings depends on what page is displaying? Sure you did, smarty pants. 👖 But did you also know that you can change the text if you want to? Well, now you do and we’ll tell you how to do it for each page.

Product Pages

The Default: visitors see the Name for the product displayed.

The Override: 

  1. In your Admin Area, go to Inventory > Products.
  2. Select the product you want to customize.
  3. In the Advanced Info section, on the Search Engine Optimization tab, in the Meta Tag Title field, enter the new browser tab text in the field.
  4. Click Save.

Category Pages

The Default: visitors see the Category Name for the category displayed.

The Override:

  1. Go to Inventory > Categories.
  2. Hover over the category you want to edit and click Edit, or click View List and select the category from the list.
  3. In the Advanced Settings section, on the Search Engine Optimization tab, in the Meta Tag Title field, enter the new browser tab text.
  4. Click Save.

Named Pages

The Default: visitors see a default value named after the page

The Override: 

  1. Go to Marketing > SEO.
  2. In the Meta Info section, select the tab for the page you want to edit.
  3. In the Meta Tag Title field, enter the new browser tab text.
  4. Click Save.

Article Pages

The Default: visitors see your URL.

The Override: 

  1. Go to Design > Site Content.
  2. Click the ID of the article you want to edit.
  3. In the Search Engine Optimization section, in the Meta Tag Title field, enter the new browser tab text.
  4. Click Save.
