Good SEO information can mean the difference between a few visitors and massive website traffic. Volusion offers a lot of choices for adding SEO information, as outlined in THIS ARTICLE.
Site-wide SEO is important, but don't overlook your individual products. Your customers need to know about those as well. Let's take a look at how to set up SEO information for products.
To access the product-level SEO section, from your store's Admin Dashboard choose Inventory > Products.
From your Product List, choose the product you will be working with and click its Product Code.
Locate the Advanced Info section, the first tab is for Search Engine Optimization.
The Product URL Text field should be a short, text-only version of the Product Name.
This information is shared with SEO bots in order for them to build a profile of the product. When you select Enable Search Engine Friendly URLs at Marketing > SEO, in the this value displays in the product page URL.
The Photo Alt Text field allows you to add a title to the product's main image. This can be very useful as Search Engines cannot interpret what your image is. Adding a name can help clarify for potential searcher's exactly what your image is.
The Meta Tag Title field is the title of the product page as presented to Search Engines.
It displays on the browser tab when shoppers visit the page. If you leave it blank, the Name value is used.
The Meta Tag Description field is a short, descriptive paragraph containing details you want search engines to index. This text is only visible to search engines.
The Meta Tag Keywords field is a list of keywords for this product, separated by commas. They do not display to customers, but search engines use them to index your store content.
A few words about Keywords-
Beginning around 2006, Google began changing it’s Search Algorithm. They moved away from pulling “Key word phrases” and pairing them with user queries. Now, Google interprets the data on a website and makes conclusions about what that business delivers. This makes individual keywords less important and longer phrases, such as Meta Tag Title and Meta Tag Description more important. Much more SEO goodness can be achieved by embedding important keywords into phrases and content within the site, rather than just listing them in the SEO Keywords section.
The Meta Tags Override field is for advanced users only. Any code you type here overrides all other SEO and meta tag values and settings for this product.
This field is designed for HTML. What you add can affect not only this product, but other pages on the site. Adding things like Meta Refresh or Meta Redirect codes can change the way the page operates.
So, what can you put in this field?
If you are transferring information from an older site that used HTML for its SEO, you could import that information to this field.
Additionally, a “Robots” tag could be added to keep an item from being indexed by a Search Engine. This might be useful for private or one of a kind items that the merchant does not want to show up on Google.
Here are a few samples of HTML code that can be used in this field.
Meta Refresh- forces the browser to refresh the page. In this case, the refresh is set for every 30 seconds and can be modified for longer or shorter times.

Meta Redirect- provides a link for a new page in the event the current page is no longer in use.
