By organizing your products into categories, customers can easily navigate your store and find your products.

Here’s how to do it:

  1. When you're creating a new product or editing an existing one, click Add Categories or Edit Categories to open the categories list popup

  2. Search or scroll to find categories, and select the box beside each category name

  3. Click Apply to assign your selected categories to the product and return to the Product page

If your store has a large number of categories, you may find it more convenient to click the Advanced option below the Categories label. You can then add categories by their ID numbers, separated by commas.

Creating New Categories

If you want to create a new category to which you can assign products, click the Create New Category link (to the right of Edit Categories) and assign it to a navigation menu.

Additional options are available when setting up categories at Inventory > Categories. 


An organized store is a well-shopped store. By assigning products to existing categories and creating new ones, you can provide an intuitive shopping experience that allows customers to find what they’re looking for and discover even more products.
