Technology helps business like yours move at lightning speed. That is, until it fails. #TechFail. Sometimes, when you send Volusion email 📧 to your customers or vendors — via Outlook or another POP email host — you’ll experience delays or, worse, a failed delivery. 😟  So what’s going on?

If you're using a third-party email solution, such as Microsoft Outlook, to access your Volusion email, you may run up against certain restrictions, depending on your Internet Service Provider (ISP). 

Some ISPs, including AT&T and its affiliates, require all mail being sent over their system to be re-routed through their SMTP servers. This is likely done to allow them to monitor all outgoing mail in order to catch spam, etc. Hence, delays.


In business, time is money, so you need to be able to rely on technology to help you run your store as efficiently as possible. That includes email. 

If you’re experiencing delays when sending email from your store, and you’re using a third-party POP email host, it could be because your ISP is re-routing your email through their servers. If this slowdown becomes too much of a drag, you might consider switching ISPs or looking for a different email host.
