Ecommerce has exploded in recent years, but some internet users still aren’t comfortable ordering goods and services online. If you take phone calls, there’s no need to miss out on a sale; Volusion makes it easy for you to place an order for a shopper in your Admin Area at Orders > Phone Orders.
First choose the appropriate Customer Type. You can enter an email address and password for a New Customer, enter the ID number of an Existing Customer, or place the order without choosing or creating a customer account. You can also use the Search fields to look up an existing customer.
To add a product to the cart, you can manually type the product’s code or name in the Order Summary section, select from the suggestions provided, and click Add, or you can click Go Shopping and add it to your cart as a shopper would. Your storefront automatically loads in a new browser window, allowing you to locate the item through standard navigation or search. You can add as many items as you like. When finished, go back to your Admin Area and click Refresh to populate the cart contents to the order.
Here you can edit the order details as necessary, including item quantities, coupon and discount settings, tax applicability, and more. If you make changes, use the Recalculate button to apply them.
If you place the order for an existing customer, you can select a shipping method at this time. For a new or anonymous customer, you’ll first have to fill out the address fields below. When finished, Apply Tax & Shipping, then choose a shipping method. Lastly, enter the customer’s payment details and click Place Order.
If you don’t want to finish processing the order now, you can deselect one or more options provided, or save the order for later and complete it at your convenience. Simply name the cart and Save. You can access it at any time by clicking the name you specified.
