Your password is your all-important key to your kingdom. 🏰 🗝️  But sometimes in an effort to keep your account super-secure, you might forget it or need to change it. Don’t worry, it’s a snap. Here’s how it’s done.


Changing Your MyVolusion Password

You can edit your Volusion account password, email address and secret question by logging into MyVolusion and going to my Account > Account Info.

If you forgot your password and need to reset it: 

  1. Click Forgot your password? on the login page below the Password field
  2. On the following page, type your email address in the Email field
  3. Click Submit
  4. Complete CAPTCHA authentication (so we know you’re human 👩 and not a bot 🤖)
  5. Check your email inbox (the email account associated with your account) for a message from our sales team with instructions on resetting your password
  6. Click the special link in the email
  7. Type your new password in both fields
  8. Click Reset Password

And BOOM you’re done! Whoohoo! 🙌

Forgot Or Lost Access To The Email Address ✉️ On Your Account?

Before you get frustrated about forgetting which email address is associated with your Volusion account, contact our Support Team for assistance. If you answer the account verification questions correctly, we can help you identify the correct address or change it, if necessary.

Changing Your Store Admin Area Password

If you forgot your password for your Admin Area …

  1. Click Forgot your password? on the login page below the Password field
  2. On the following page, type your email address in the Email field
  3. Click Submit
  4. Complete the CAPTCHA authentication
  5. Check your email inbox for a message from the master address listed at Settings > Company with instructions on resetting your password
  6. Click the special link in the email
  7. Type your new password in both fields
  8. Click Reset Password

It’s that easy!  😁

Can’t Access Your Super Admin Email Account?

If you’re feeling a little less super 😟 because you lost access to your Super Admin email address, or forgot the email address associated with your Super Admin account, contact our Support team for assistance. 

If you answer the account verification questions correctly, we can help you identify the correct address. Or we can send a password reset email to the email address of the person who owns the store hosting plan. And that is super duper! 💪 

⚠️  Keep in mind:

  • Your MyVolusion account email address may not be the same as your Super Admin email address
  • Both your MyVolusion account email address and your Super Admin email address may be different than the email address of the person who owns the customer account
  • You may not have a MyVolusion account at all

Changing Your Email Account Password

You can edit the passwords for your email accounts in the same location that you set them up:

  1. Log in to your MyVolusion account (see above)
  2. Go to my Stores > Manage Email
  3. Click the pencil icon next to the email account of your choice
  4. Use the Password and Confirm Password fields to set your preferred value
  5. Click Save

⚠️  Keep in mind: 

To keep your account super-secure, avoid using your account name, full name, initials, or display name for your password.

In order for your password to be accepted, it must contain a minimum of 8 characters, and at least three of the following four character types:

  • English uppercase letters
  • English lowercase letters
  • Numerals (0-9)
  • Non-alphabetic characters (such as !, #, $, %)

If the store in question is not listed in the drop-down menu at the top, you aren't logged into a customer account authorized to edit the store's email accounts. 

If the store is listed, but you receive a message stating that you are not authorized after you select it, the customer account that owns the hosting plan has not given you permission to edit the store's email accounts. You will have to contact the owner for further assistance.


Changing Your FTP Account Password

You can edit the passwords for your FTP accounts in the same location that you set them up:

  1. Log in to your MyVolusion account (see above)
  2. Go to my Stores > Manage FTP
  3. There, click Edit below the account details to edit the password field
  4. Click Save

As we mentioned above, if the store in question is not listed in the drop-down menu at the top, you aren't logged in to a customer account authorized to edit the store's FTP accounts. 

If the store is listed, but you receive a message stating that you are not authorized after you select it, the customer account that owns the hosting plan has not given you permission to edit the store's FTP accounts. You will have to contact the owner for further assistance.
