Volusion offers custom email addresses with all monthly hosting plans that use a “www” domain name. The service is provided through Rackspace’s Email & Apps division.

To set up your email accounts, log in to my.volusion.com. Keep in mind that the password for this page is the one you chose when you placed your store order, and is probably different than the password for your Admin Area. If you haven’t already, take a moment to select and answer a secret question for identity verification. Then click Manage Email under the My Store heading.

To add a mailbox, click Add next to the Mailboxes heading. Then create a username and password, and enter your first and last name. Be sure to check the Active? check box and press Create. In order for a password to be accepted, it must contain a minimum of eight characters including at least three of the following:

  • English uppercase letters
  • English lowercase letters
  • Numerals (0-9)
  • Non-alphanumeric characters (!,#,$,%)

Don't use characters from your:

  • Account name
  • Full name
  • Initials
  • Display name

New mailboxes can take up to 30 minutes to activate. To access the new mailbox, visit mail.volusion.com and log in with the password you created. To create a new mail folder, click the green plus symbol next to the Email Folders heading in the menu on the left. Enter a Name, classify it as a main folder or a sub-folder, and click Save.

To create a new email message, click Compose. When you’re finished composing your message, you can send it or save it as a draft.

To modify the console display, click Settings in the top right. To set an automated response, click Incoming Email, set the Status to On, fill in the text box, and click Enable Only During the Following Time Frame to set start and end times. When finished, press Save.

To forward email to another address, click the Forwarding tab, set the Status to On, and enter the address in the form field. Using comma separation, you can forward to a total of 15 other addresses, 4 of which can be outside the domain. You can set a time frame just as with the auto-reply.

Note that you can also save local copies of forwarded emails. When finished, click Save. You may have to wait up to 10 minutes for your settings to take effect.
