When a customer clicks on the Add to Cart button the shopping cart page usually displays immediately. However, sometimes there may be a brief pause, in which case the Please Wait page displays.

Although this page is rarely visible for an extended period of time, you may want to edit it so that it matches your site's overall design and theme. To do so, you need to know that it consists of two .gif images and two PageText fields:

  • The Preparing your order...Please Wait image is 350 x 125px and can be found at /v/vspfiles/templates/themeID/images/preparing_pleasewait.gif
  • The loading bar animation right below Please Wait is 350 x 50px can be found at /v/vspfiles/templates/themeID/images/preparing_progressbar.gif

Be sure to replace "themeID" with the name or ID number of your active theme. You can see this information in the Shortcuts list at Design > File Editor. For example, if your theme file is "template_253.html", your progress bar image will be located at /v/vspfiles/templates/253/images/preparing_progressbar.gif.

Note that some themes may have slightly different graphics that correspond to these file names. For example, several newer themes display the following graphic for "preparing_pleasewait.gif", and do not display a progress bar at all:

To replace these graphics, you can create images with the same names and dimensions and use the FTP to upload them to the same file path locations.

  • You can edit the text that reads, "If you are not re-directed within the next 10 seconds, click here to continue," at Design > Site Content. Select PageText from the drop-down menu, and then select PleaseWait from the Category menu. Edit ID # 148.
  • You can edit the text that reads, "If for any reason you cannot proceed past this page, please call us for quick & easy assistance. Thank you." at Design  > Site Content. Select PageText from the drop-down menu, and then select PleaseWait from the Category menu. Edit ID # 253.
