Informative product reviews can be a powerful tool in converting new visitors into regular customers.

To enable product reviews on your website, go to Inventory > Products in your Admin Area, choose All Products Settings from the Settings dropdown, and select Enable Customer Reviews. To get the most out of your reviews, we recommend that you also display them on your category pages, search results pages, and on your featured products. When you’re finished, click Save.

Now, customers can leave reviews directly on your storefront product pages. The form allows your customers to give a star rating from 1 to 5, choose a title, and write a text review. They can also include a name and location.

Reviews appear on your storefront automatically, where shoppers can state whether or not they found the review helpful or leave their own reviews. Products with multiple reviews display a total number and average star rating. If you enabled all recommended features, these details display on your storefront category pages, your search results pages, and your featured products.

Volusion also makes it easy for Google to display these details through the use of rich snippets. We provide all the necessary data to Google automatically, so no additional setup is required on your part. If Google decides to display it, it will appear in their search results.

To get as many reviews as possible, you can send your customers automated email invites after you process their orders. To turn the feature on, return to Inventory > Products > Settings > All Products Settings, select Auto Survey Email Enabled, and save. Note that you can control when emails are sent by adjusting the Auto Survey Email After Number of Days setting. The number of days is calculated from the date you mark the order as "shipped". All past orders marked as “shipped” older than this value will prompt invite emails when you turn the feature on, and more recent orders will prompt emails when the specified number of days has passed.

The email contains a link to a special page where customers can review each product they purchased, provided they haven’t already reviewed it. The review form works just like the storefront review form on your product pages.
